Sandra Rose Smith, 64, a resident of Cedar Crest, New Mexico since 1991, died Monday, February 27, 2006 from complications of diabetes. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Farrell M. Smith of Cedar Crest; daughter, Julie Wride and husband, Stuart, of Victor, ID; sons: F. Matthew Smith and wife, Christina, of Saipan, Norther Marianas; Robert F. Smith and wife, Krista, of Albuquerque, NM; David F. Smith and wife, Leslie, of Highland, UT; Michael F. Smith and wife, Camella, of Cedar Crest, NM; Jeffrey F. Smith of Manhattan, NY; grandchildren: Samuel and Charlie Wride of Victor, ID; Taylor, Madison, Harrison, and Carter Smith of Saipan, Norther Marianas; Kindred, Phoebe, Bennett and Naomi Smith, all of Highland, UT; Anodyne LeeAnne Smith of Cedar Crest, NM; parents: Paul and Connie Bang of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Linda Ludlow and husband, Mark, of St. George, UT; brother: Steve Bang and wife, LeeAnn, of Orem, UT; and David Bang and wife, Linda, of Mesa, AZ; son-in-law, Philip White of Danville, KY; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, LeeAnne White, in 2001.
Sandra grew up in Cincinnati, OH. While attending Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, she met and married Farrell Smith in the Manti, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in September, 1963. She graduated from BYU in June of 1964. Following graduation from BYU, Farrell and Sandra eventually settled in Tempe, AZ where they raised seven children. From 1987 until 1990 they lived in Vienna, Austria where Sandra served as mission mother to hundreds of missionaries. Sandra was currently actively involved, along with her husband, as owners of Exerplay, Inc. Sandra was an active member of the Cedar Crest Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities. She was an exceptional mother, grandmother and fiend who will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
